EKAKSH SINGH RAGHUVARDHAN

"I built walls to keep the world out, but her touch turned them to dust-I never wanted to be saved, yet she became my salvation."

- Ekaksh Singh Raghuvardhan

[ FAMILY MEMBERS ]

GRAND MOTHER ( Dadi ) Maharani Padmavati Raghuvardhan

The matriarch of the Raghuvardhan family, Padmavati is a formidable yet loving figure in Ekaksh’s life. At 78, she carries the weight of the family’s royal legacy with pride, her silver hair and piercing eyes a testament to her strength. She was deeply involved in arranging Vikram’s marriage to Sanvi, honoring the promise made by her late husband. Padmavati is the only person Ekaksh truly opens up to, and her influence is what brings him back to the haveli for the wedding. She adores Ekaksh, seeing in him the valor of her late husband, and often acts as the bridge between him and the rest of the family.

FATHER Rajendra Singh Raghuvardhan

Rajendra, 58, is the current head of the Raghuvardhan family and a respected figure in Rajasthan’s cultural and business circles. He inherited the family’s heritage business but often clashes with Ekaksh over their differing views on tradition versus modernity. After Ekaksh’s mother’s death, Rajendra remarried, a decision that deepened the rift between him and Ekaksh. Rajendra lives in the haveli with his second wife and Vikram, and while he cares for Ekaksh, their relationship is strained, marked by formalities rather than warmth.

STEP MOTHER Sunita Raghuvardhan

Sunita, 52, is Rajendra’s second wife and Vikram’s mother. She entered the family a few years after Ekaksh’s mother passed away, and her presence has always been a sore point for Ekaksh. Sunita is elegant and poised, often focused on maintaining the family’s social standing, but she struggles to connect with Ekaksh, who views her as an outsider. She dotes on Vikram, often overlooking his recklessness, which further frustrates Ekaksh.

STEP BROTHER Vikram Singh Raghuvardhan

Vikram, 28, is Ekaksh’s younger stepbrother and Sunita’s son. He’s the one originally betrothed to Sanvi, as per the family’s arrangement. Vikram is charming but irresponsible, often shirking his duties as a Raghuvardhan. Vikram’s carefree attitude and lack of accountability are a constant source of tension between him and Ekaksh, who resent his stepbrother’s disregard for the family’s honor.

LATE MOTHER Anjali Raghuvardhan

Anjali, who passed away when Ekaksh was 22, was the emotional anchor of his life. A kind and nurturing woman, she instilled in Ekaksh a love for history and culture, often sharing stories of the Raghuvardhan legacy. Her death in a car accident left Ekaksh shattered, leading him to distance himself from the family and retreat into solitude. Her memory haunts him, and her absence shapes his initial reluctance to form emotional bonds, including with Sanvi.

[ FAMILY DYNAMICS ]

Ekaksh’s deep love for his grandmother is the only thread tying him to the family. He has a strained relationship with his father, Rajendra, and stepmother, Sunita, which is why he lives separately in his own mansion in Jaipur. His resentment toward Vikram stems from both Vikram’s irresponsibility and the fact that Sunita’s arrival (and Vikram’s birth) shifted the family dynamics after Anjali’s death. Padmavati, as the matriarch, tries to hold the family together, but Ekaksh’s isolation and Vikram’s recklessness create an undercurrent of tension within the Raghuvardhan household.
